Photomontage Project at Manchester's One Angel Square NOMA Living Development

Helping to create accurate visuals of the new £115m NOMA development scheme with Virtual Planit.

There’s nothing more powerful than an accurate image to enable developers to share their vision of a major new building. And this was particularly the case when Moda Living wanted to present their plans for a 36-storey tower on Manchester’s up-and-coming NOMA development.

Because there were concerns that the height of the building might interfere with the heritage of the Manchester skyline, we were called in to help put together highly accurate images showing what the completed building would look like from 7 different locations across the city.

The project was completed on behalf of specialist architectural visualisation consultants Virtual Planit. It involved accompanying a photographer to agreed locations around Manchester and taking accurate photographs and measurements at exactly the same point. We focused on the buildings which surround the area of the new development in order to show the tower in context.

Back at the studio, Virtual Planit used our accurate survey data to produce a computer generated 3D model of the new building showing what it will look like within the context of the city. The image is extremely accurate (on a building which will stand more than 100m tall) and is an excellent representation of how the building will come to look once the construction phase is complete.

Richard Line of Virtual Planit said: “By working with Powers and Tiltman it’s been possible to create highly accurate, robust imagery showing the visual impact of the new development. This degree of accuracy, known as a Verified View, means our client, Moda Living, can present their plans with confidence.”
