Powers & Tiltman take great pride in having an experienced and motivated team who are successful at working collaboratively.
Below are some of our key team members who can assist you with any query you may have:
Matthew joined Powers & Tiltman in September 1997, as a Land Surveyor before purchasing the company in 2007 with his wife, Lucy. During this time, he learned how to run the business in close partnership with his father, Michael Powers.
Matthew’s considerable experience in surveying both land and buildings has enabled him to provide innovative solutions to seemingly impossible problems and he’s happy for anyone with a land, building or boundary ‘problem’ to ring him for a chat. Responsible for the strategic direction of the business, forging new contacts and making sure our clients are kept happy and fulfilled is of paramount importance to him. Since purchasing the business, Matthew has continued using the same ethics and values as his father, focusing on the adoption of the latest equipment and the continued investment in his staff and the company.
Matthew has particular expertise in helping to bring fraught and long-winded commercial boundary disputes to a close and is currently working towards Member status with RICS to support the breadth of experience he holds in this area.
Director of Business Development and Company Secretary
Following the completion of an MBA, Lucy joined Powers & Tiltman in January 2007, purchasing the business six months later with husband Matthew.
Responsible for business development Lucy works closely with Matthew to define the marketing and business strategy, key performance indicators, human resource processes, company certifications and financial parameters of the business. She is a committee member of the Forum for the Built Environment and loves to get stuck into networking with like minded individuals. Lucy’s role, in short, is to increase the awareness of the company in all relevant sectors and maintain the credibility and professionalism that Powers & Tiltman's clients have come to expect.
Peter joined Powers & Tiltman Ltd in October 1994 and over the last 24 years, he has risen from Junior Surveyor to Survey Manager, overseeing the work that comes through the door, managing the work in progress and a team of surveyors on a day to day basis.
Pete’s focus on quality, along with his considerable input into the compilation of our Technical Manual, means that Powers and Tiltman’s surveying processes are carried out with accuracy, ensuring that all work that leaves the premises is of the required standard. His experience with large topographical and measured building projects and his commitment to ensuring the team’s capability in these areas remains of a high standard, is a reflection of his hard work and dedication over the years.
Pete is currently working towards Member status with ICES and hopes to achieve this in 2018.
Senior Land Surveyor
Daniel joined Powers & Tiltman in September 2006 following the completion of an OND in Civil Engineering at Mid Cheshire College. He left the company in 2015 but returned in 2016 as Senior Land Surveyor and got stuck into becoming an expert in point clouds and the Leica ScanStation. Daniel tackles each project with enthusiasm and commitment and is happy to take on our most complex measured building surveys in order to challenge himself that little bit further. He's also becoming a key member of the management team and is keen to make sure all junior members of staff are trained to the level of experience required by the company, seeing on the job training as part of his valued role within the organisation.
Joe joined Powers & Tiltman in August 2012 and has risen to Land Surveyor within that time. He has become one of the key members of the team getting to grips with large, complex topographic surveys and providing on-site training to junior members of staff. As with all our surveyors, Joe takes great responsibility for the completion of his survey drawings before they are issued to the client and spends time ensuring the quality of his and other members of staff’s work is up to our exacting standards.
Joe is currently working towards Technical membership with ICES and hopes to achieve this in 2018.
Land and Engineering Surveyor
Kevin joined the company in 2014 with a wealth of experience in engineering and surveying in the chemical and petro-chemical industries and holds an ECITB card. His forte is meticulous accuracy with an eye on quality and ensuring he meets strict deadlines. He relishes new survey challenges, has no problem working under pressure and as a result, is very popular with our clients.
In his spare time he is involved in motorsport (both on 2 wheels and 4 wheels) and has been an active competitor in the past. Now, he enjoys marshalling and mechanic duties with most of his spare time spent at or on the track.
